BIG T'z Q CRU is a competition barbeque team headquartered in Ames, Iowa. The team was started in 2008 by father/son team captains--Terry and Ryan Newstrom, as a way to spend more time with family and friends doing something they both love--hangin' outside cookin' meat.
The 6'5'' 275 lb. Terry is nicknamed "Big T" hence the name of the team.
In 2008 Big T'z Q Cru competed in one competition, the 2008 Nevada Kiwanis Club BBQ Contest. It was a fun, learning experience and after competing against some of the best teams in the country Big T'z was proud to take home a 6th place ribbon for their brisket!
In 2009 Big T'z picked up right where they left off recieving prizes at every competition they have cooked, including the coveted GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP of the Great Pork BarbeQlossal!
